Louis Thomas "Louie" Schloesser, 72, of Arbuckle, California, passed away at home on January 20, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born on February 13, 1950, in Redding, California, the son of Elbert J. Schloesser and Lois L. Schloesser.
Louie lived all over the United States throughout childhood, his father was in the Navy. Later, his family returned to California and resided in Arbuckle, CA, where he graduated from Pierce High School and met the love of his life, Judy.
After Louie graduated high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He was a standout soldier, was recruited for Marine Recon training, and was a part of the 3rd Recon Battalion, Echo Company. Once he completed his training, Louie was sent to the Vietnam War in 1969. He was a very proud Marine and greatly respected our military.
Louie returned from Vietnam, married Judy, and they began their lives together. Louie was a very talented carpenter and could build anything you desired. He also was a coach for little league baseball for many years.
Louie was an avid hunter and trapper. He also loved fishing and spending time with his family. He is a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. If you needed anything, he was the first one there.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Judy Schloesser; his sons, William Schloesser (Desere) of Arbuckle, CA, Joseph Schloesser (Wendy) of Lincoln, CA, and Jack Schloesser (Alicia) of Arbuckle, CA; daughter, Carrie Schloesser (Manuel) of Yuba City; grandchildren, Noelle, Sierra, Che, Jordan, Jayden, Jasmine, Genevieve, Ophelia, Emma, Eliana, Angel, Dana, Jade, Clinton, and Tatiana; sisters, Dorothy Condrey, Loretta Washburn, and Christine Lindsay, brother, David Schloesser; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly and were more like his kids.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Schloesser and Lois Schloesser; and sister, Sarah Schloesser.
Funeral services will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 408 Laurel St., in Arbuckle, with mass at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2023. A military ceremony will be held at the Arbuckle Veteran's Memorial Park on 5th St. at 1:00 p.m. The celebration of life will be held at Tex's Banquet Hall, 513 5th St., in Arbuckle.
