Norma Marie Paden

Norma Marie Paden, 83, passed away October 11, 2925, after a bout with Alzheimers disease, in Yuba City, CA.

Born December 24, 1941, in Yuba City, to Norman and Pauline Helsem, she attended Yuba City schools before graduating from Yuba City High in 1959, and Yuba College in 1961, with a degree in finance.

In 1965, she met and married William "Bill" Paden Jr., who was employed in raw materials management for food processors that took them to many places.

Their homes consisted of Chico, CA, for three years, Woodland, CA, for seven years, Gilroy, CA, for 18 years, McAllen, TX, for six years, Lapeer, MI, for five years, and to Yuba City, CA, for 21 years for retirement.

Norma held bookkeeping positions at The Outdoorsman, Chico, CA, Gilroy printers, Steven Schrepfer CPA, in Gilroy, CA, and a firm in McAllen, TX.

Bill and Norma had two sons, William III, born in Chico, CA, and Jeffrey, born in Woodland, CA. Both were graduates of the Gilroy schools.

Raising her family and their boxer dogs, Angel and Casey, were the daily prides and joys and Norma's life. She also loved the travel involved and the people she met along the way.

Following her return to to Yuba City, CA, Norma became a member of the Sunset Buttes Lions Club, achieving Lion of the year in 2017 and 2018. Before COVID, she was a member of the Moose Lodge. She is a member of the Sons of Norway.

As a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Yuba City, the site of their marriage ceremony in 1965, she has served one term as Deacon.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Norma and Pauline Helsem; and sister, Mickie Sims.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; sons, Bill (Marie), of Llano, LA, and Jeff (Blanca); four year old granddaughter, Sierra, of Cypress, TX; sister, Pamela (Don) Fair; nephew, Richard; and niece, Lisa, of Olivehurst, CA.

A memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 11 AM at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 1390 Franklin Road, Yuba City, CA.
