Rickie Gamble Obituary

Rickie "Rick" James Gamble, age 70, passed away Monday, July 22, 2024, after a very courageous four and half year battle with stage 4 lung cancer.

Born in East Liverpool, OH, on May 28, 1954, to his parents Lester Ralph and Ada Eileen Gamble. Rick grew up in the Los Angeles area.

After graduation from Thousand Oaks High School, Rick moved north with his family and settled in the Yuba-Sutter area. He worked for the Yuba County Sheriff's Department, flew crop dusters, worked at Yuba Goldfields, and drove big rig trucks. Rick soon settled into cryogenics as a service mechanic for Union Carbide-Linde-PraxAir. ~Rick retired from Sierra Testing, owned by his brother, Jeff Gamble and himself in 2015.

Rick enjoyed many outdoor activities. He loved water skiing on a single ski, scuba diving, flying his airplane, camping, watching auto racing (he was always cheering on Ernie Irvan), and spending time with his family and friends. In his retirement years he enjoyed gardening and fishing off his boat.

Rick is survived by his wife of 46 years, Nancy Gamble; daughters, Jennifer Richardson (Ryan), Tammy Johnson (Larry), Shelly Lohman (James); grandchildren, Tristan Garza, Brooklynn Bilbo, Larry Johnson, Carson Johnson; brother, Jeff Gamble; and many extended family members.

Rick was a very caring person and would do anything for anyone. He will be deeply missed.

Requested by the family, a private service will be held in Brownsville, CA. In lieu of flowers, please show compassion towards others as Rick would have wanted this, to continue his legacy of kindness towards people and animals.
