Ronald Hohl Obituary

Ronald Jack "Ron" Hohl, was called home to be with Jesus on May 2, 2025.

Ron was born to Frederick and Anna Hohl at their family home in Buffalo, NY, on April 19, 1933.

While growing up, Ron enjoyed playing baseball and hunting. He attended grade school through junior college in Buffalo, NY, and later graduated with a degree in chemistry from the University of Buffalo.

Ron also served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956 as a radar operator at Jackson Park C-41 Missile Site outside of Chicago, IL.

Ron met his wife, Torrey, in early 1960, at a YWCA dance, and was married later that year on August 20th.

They settled in the Buffalo area and went on to have two children, Gretchen and Ronnie. In 1971, they moved their family to Orange, CA.

In 1987, he and Torrey moved to Yuba City, CA. In addition to Ron being a devoted follower of Christ, a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, he served as a Gideon, volunteered with the Christian Assistance Network, and was head usher at his church for many years.

In Ron's later years, he became his wife's constant companion and caregiver as she journeyed through her struggle with dementia.

Ron joins his wife, of 50 years, Torrey; his parents, Frederick, and Anna; his son, Ronnie; and brother, Earl in heaven.

He is survived by his daughter, Gretchen Mattice (Greg); grandchildren, Jeremy Mattice (Crystal), and Caitlyn Hobbs (Leo); as well as five great-grandchildren.

While we grieve Ron's passing, we find comfort in the hope of Jesus' resurrection and the assurance we will one day be reunited in God's eternal kingdom.

A celebration of Ron's life will be scheduled for a future date to honor his memory and rejoice in the promise of everlasting life.

If you would like to personally honor Ron's memory, please consider making a donation to Craftsmen for Christ in his name. Your gift can be sent to CFC at 1321 Peachtree Lane, Yuba City, CA 95991.
