Sandra Kern Obituary
Born in Marysville, she was a former Yuba-Sutter resident, living in Virginia for about 30 years.
She taught art to special education students in Modesto and art to kindergarten to third grade in Albion, Mich.
She was a graduate of Marysville High School and Yuba College. In addition, she received a bachelor's degree in art in 1963 from Chico State College and earned a teaching certificate from California State University, Stanislaus.
Survivors include her husband, John Kern of Roanoke, Va.; a son, Aaron Schroeder of Virginia; her mother, Phyllis Brill of Marysville; two sisters, Kathleen Alfonso of Loomis and Patricia Ford of Chico; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Algeo Henry Brill.
Donations may be made to UNICEF, 333 East 38th St., New York, NY 10016.
Services: Local services are pending. Inurnment will be at a cemetery in Paradise. Arrangements were under the direction of Oakley's Funeral Service in Roanoke, Va.
