Sheldon Scott Copeland

Sheldon Scott Copeland of Marysville, CA, 66, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at The Fountains in Yuba City, CA.

He was born at Fremont Hospital in Yuba City, CA, on April 4, 1959, and was raised in Hallwood, CA, where he attended Cordua Elementary School, and then attended Marysville High School.

After graduation he joined the U.S. Navy. During midlife, he lived a short time in Paradise, CA, then made a move to spend the rest of his days in Colusa County, CA, as a truck driver.

Growing up, Sheldon discovered his love for baseball and he was a true natural athlete. He lived a simple life and always on his own terms.

If he had only a dollar on him he would give it to someone who needed it most. He loved the outdoors, always spending time at his favorite swimming holes at the Yuba River in Hallwood, CA.

He had a hobby of crafting liquor and one of his past times was reading. He enjoyed the holidays because he was a big kid at heart.

By far his favorite was the 4th of July, so he could demonstrate his pyrotechnic skills, needless to say his love for food, and most of all the love he had for friends and family. His independent spirit and outlook on life inspired those dear to him.

He is survived by his daughters, Shannon and Nikki Jo Copeland; son, Wyatt Reusser; grandson, Steven Gladden; granddaughters, Kiera Mick and Harley Reusser; great-grandsons, Steven Anthony and Colton Gladden; father, Jack Dwayne Adkins, of S. Carolina; mother, Geraldine Copeland; sister, Christy Copeland-Winona; brother, Eddie Adkins, of S. Carolina; niece, Morgan Winona-Schoel; two great nieces; and one great-nephew.

He leaves behind many loving friends and relatives.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Adkins, of S. Carolina; nephew, Austin Garrett Winona; stepfather, Billy Hugh Copeland; grandparents, Johney and Ocie Baker, and John and Betty Powell.

Sheldon was a son, brother, father and grandpa that will be greatly missed. The family would love anyone to reach out to share photos or memories together.
