Willie Willis Obituary
Willie L. Willis, 81, formerly of Yuba City, CA, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2021, at his home in Port Angeles, WA, surrounded by family. Willie was born in Conway, AR, and moved to the Yuba Sutter area as a child.
Willie's love for trucking lead him to start Willis Pump and Injector, Inc., in Yuba City. He retired in 1993 after moving his business to Woodland. He then moved to Montana, but as the family grew moved back to Yuba City, where he bought and ran The Munch Box and remodeled homes. Willie and Karen along with his rescue dog, Tucker moved to Washington making Port Angeles their retirement home by the ocean.
Family meant everything to him. He loved life and was a very generous man, giving to family, friends and those he met during his travels. He was known for his great sense of humor, jokes, grit, the stories he told and always being "finer than frogs' hair". He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Willie is preceded in death by his son, J. Butch Willis; parents, James and Ruby Willis, sisters; Imogene Rohrig, and Anne Mae Thompson.
Willie is survived by Karen, his loving wife of 31 years. Also, surviving are sons, Willie (Janell) Willis of Plumas Lake, and Jamie (Stephanie) Walton of Blackwell, OK; daughters, Shellay (Michael) Thomsen of Port Angeles, WA, and Christy Quigley of Marysville; sisters, Gladys McBee of Marysville, Bernice Lutz of Aurora, CO, and Mary (Carl) Hampton of Oroville; brother, James Willis of Oroville; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on September 4, 2021, at 1136 Freshwater Park, Port Angeles, WA, at 1:00 pm. The family would like that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to your local animal shelter, rescue group or ASPCA.
