DAVID HOWARD "BUDDY" SMITH Funeral services for David Howard "Buddy" Smith, 82, will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Harvey-Douglas Centennial Chapel with Reverend Buck Buchanan officiating. Interment will follow at Provence Cemetery. A time of visitation and support for the family will be held Monday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The son of the David and Nell Lee James Smith, Buddy was born February 4, 1942 in Ardmore and passed from this life to life eternal on November 7, 2024. He and the former Bonnie Annalee Savage were married September 29,1961 at Marietta, Oklahoma and she preceded him in death on June 25, 2010. He later married Anita Kay Liston on September 17, 2011 in Valley View and they shared 13 years together. Buddy worked for Carter County District 1 for 13 years as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic. He later worked for Cashman Trucking, and worked at the Uniroyal Tire Plant in Maintenance where he retired in 2003. He raised fighting roosters and cattle after he retired and enjoyed fishing and gardening. Buddy leaves to cherish his memory his wife Kay, sons, Sam Porter and wife Tresa; Frank Penny and Don Mackey; daughters, Ragenia Harrington and husband Bob and Janice Hodges and husband James; Kay's sons Marty and Chuck; his brother Jimmy Smith and sisters Mary Riggs and husband Bob and Glenda Harvin; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren, plus one on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Bonnie, sons Harold David Smith and Basil G. Porter; and a brother Harold "Sonny" Smith. Pallbearers are his grandkids.
