George Bryant

GEORGE BRYANT George Bryant was the oldest son born to Shelton and Maggie (Pickens) Bryant on January 20, 1941. From labor to reward, he gained his wings on October 29, 2025, at 84 years of age. A resident of Ardmore and Gene Autry, George attended Lincoln Consolidated School. He worked for Jones Oil Company for 54 years, Uniroyal-Michelin for 25 years while also working multiple restaurant jobs. If you knew George, you knew he was a hard worker, but his passion was enjoying and taking care of his family and worshipping the Lord through church ministries. He was a dedicated farmer, rancher, and avid supporter at his grandkids sporting events. Fishing, hunting, golfing, basketball and developed love of traveling were some of the hobbies he cherished. As a devoted member of Mt Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, he was Deacon Bryant, Sunday School Superintendent and Teacher, Church Treasurer, choir member, and faithful servant within the Chickasaw District. George Bryant made sure his soul was fed as well as those he loved. "When the Lord calls on me, I am ready" he would often tell his family. George is preceded in death by his parents; brother Leonard Bryant; grandsons: Kylan Bryant and Christian Gordon (infant) He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife of sixty-three years Geraldine (Jaggers) Bryant; children, Juana Elain Bryant, Carla Bryant-Simmons (Rhonda), Annette Bryant, Juanita Bryant-Williams, Cynthia Bryant, Consuela (Cornell) Gordon, and Carmen Bryant; grandchildren, Shelton Bryant, Larmon Bryant, Aleia Gordon, Kenyon (Jessie) Gordon, Sierra Gordon, Amaya Gordon, Khalil Gordon, Marciona Bryant-Simmons, and Josiah Bryant-Simmons; great-grandchildren, Latrel Fagan, Kylan "Junior" Bryant, Lorenzo Bryant, Jey Gordon, Leo and Lelani (twins) Gordon, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Celebration of Life for George Leon Bryant will be 2 p.m., Friday November 7, 2025, at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Reverend Abraham Walton, Jr. conducting the Eulogy and Reverend Kirk Rushing officiating. Interment will follow at Black Jack Cemetery. The family is receiving friends at the house on Thursday. Services are entrusted to the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home & Crematory.
