JOYCE DAVIS Obituary

JOYCE DARLENE DAVIS (1934 2025) Joyce D. Davis passed away peacefully at home in Katy, Texas, on June 30, 2025, surrounded by family and love. Born in Oilton, Oklahoma, in 1934, Joyce was raised in Fox and attended Fox Public Schools. A gifted pianist from the age of 3, she shared her music throughout her life from church choirs to nursing homes. In 1950, she married Vernon Davis, with whom she shared over 50 years of marriage. Joyce worked for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service, retiring after 26 years as a Retail Manager. She was a devoted mother to Pam, Stan, and Brian, and cherished time with her growing family, especially during the holidays. Even as arthritis made playing piano difficult, her love of music remained strong. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; and her sisters, Pat, Phyllis, and Glenna. She is survived by her children, Brian (Sharon), Stan, and Pam (Lew); grandchildren, Adam (Kim), Andrew, Benjamin, and Samuel; and great-granddaughters, Emmelyn, Hayley, and Avery. A funeral service will be held on August 2, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. at Greenwood Chapel, Fort Worth, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
