Melvinia Rose "Beanie" Daugherty, 74-year-old Marietta, OK resident, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the Brookside Nursing Center in Madill, OK. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Church of Christ in Marietta with Minister Chase Green and Lawrence Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held that same day from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the church.
Melvinia began this life on January 3, 1951, in Bakersfield, CA, the daughter of Henry and Lou Ellen (Puryear) Westmoreland. She moved with her family to Marietta in 1962 at the age of 11, beginning a lifelong connection to the community she would come to deeply love.
Over the years, Melvinia worked at the cookie factory and the pants factory before beginning her long career with Michelin in Ardmore, OK where she faithfully served for 25 years until her retirement. Her steady work ethic and dedication were matched only by her devotion to the people she loved.
On May 21, 1971, Melvinia married the love of her life, Delbert Daugherty, in a ceremony at the First Baptist Church of Marietta. Together they built a home filled with warmth, humor, faith, and unwavering love.
Melvinia was a woman of many joys. She loved reading mysteries and watching any movie that kept her guessing. She adored Elvishis voice, his music, and the joy he brought her. Melvinia treasured shopping trips with her girls and spent countless hours cheering on her grandchildren at every game, performance, and event. Her loyalty to her family was unmatched; she made sure everyone had what they needed, always and without hesitation. Known at times for her brutal honesty, she was equally known for her deep Christian faith and quick sense of humor, a combination that made her unforgettable to everyone who knew her.
Melvinia was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Gerry Westmoreland; and her sister, Pamela Jones and her husband Hershell.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Delbert, of the home; daughters, Melissa McMillin of Marietta, Angela Noland and husband Bronson of Sulphur, OK, and Jennifer Redus and husband Jason of Flower Mound, TX; grandchildren, Trenton McMillin of Durant, OK, Macy McMillin of Fort Worth, TX, Braydon Noland and Brody Noland, both of Sulphur, and Jacob Redus of Flower Mound; brothers, Henry Westmoreland Jr. and wife Dayna of Corinth, TX and Terry Westmoreland of Durant; along with numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly; and a very special fur baby and grand dog, "D.O.".
Casket bearers will be Jason Redus, Jacob Redus, Bronson Noland, Trenton McMillin, Junior Westmoreland, and Barton McMillin.
Melvinia leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, honesty, and faith. A life richly lived and warmly remembered.
