DAVID PIETRUSZEWSKI Obituary

DAVID PIETRUSZEWSKI David Paul Pietruszewski (Pete), known affectionately as Dave to his friends and family, passed away peacefully of natural causes on June 9, 2024, at McLaren Bay Region. Born on February 27, 1947, in Bay City, Michigan, Dave's life was marked by his unwavering love for his family, his infectious sense of humor, and his thoughtful nature. Dave was the cornerstone of his family, marrying the love of his life, Geraldine Johnson, on February 19, 1966, at St. Norbert's Church in Munger. Their marriage was a testament to devotion, celebrating 58 years of shared laughter, love, and life's adventures. Together, they raised two loving daughters, Carol (Mike) Sanak and Corinne (Dan) Barringer, who were the pride and joy of his life, two adored grandchildren Adam Sanak and Ashley Barringer. Dave's family circle extended to his cherished brother-in-law, Alex (Moose) Walraven, and numerous brother and sisters-in-law, Don (Michelle), Tom (Denise), Richard (Carol) Johnson, Carol Williams, Theresa (Ray) Kraatz, Janet Kernstock, Kay (Dean) Fenwick, and Edna (Randy) Ostroski. He was a beloved figure in their lives, always ready with a joke or a helping hand. Dave was predeceased by his parents, his sister Rose Walraven, nephew Dan Walraven, and in-laws Fred and Agnes (Richard) Johnson, brother-in-law Gary Kernstock, and nephew Fred and Johnathan Williams. Professionally, Dave dedicated 23 years to Prestolite before transitioning to Weiss's Fruit Market for numerous years. His work ethic and leadership were admired by his colleagues, and his warm personality made him a favorite among customers. Dave's passions extended beyond his work. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, he would often be seen taking a ride on his Kubota, engaging in lively conversations with neighbors. His love for gardening was evident in the meticulous care he took of his plants, and his affection for animals was unmistakable in the gentle way he interacted with them. Above all, Dave will be remembered for his profound love for his family, especially his wife, Geraldine. He was a constant presence by her side, ensuring that every moment they shared was filled with happiness and mutual support. His daughters, Carol and Corinne, will carry forward the legacy of his loving guidance and the values he instilled in them. The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to Dr. Gomes and DaVita Dialysis and the staff at Bay Shores for the care given to Dave, also, Sam and Marlene Bishop, Jim and Julie LaHar and Mark and Diane Konwinski for the many months of help and support. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, June 14, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Pinconning Cheese House. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home.
