Elsa Peck

Elsa Peck, formerly of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away quietly, surrounded by family, the loving caregivers of the Balaton Colonial Manor, and the wonderful support and guidance of hospice on Dec. 24, 2013, at the age of 98. She died of old age, having lived a full and happy life.

Elsa was born on March 28, 1915, in Murray County of Minnesota, to Erick and Esther Erickson. She graduated from High School at Ruthton, MN and Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD with a teaching degree. She taught school and music at Volin and Murdo, SD. Here she met her future husband, Harold Peck, and married in Rapid City, SD on Dec. 13, 1941. They made their home in Murdo, Custer and Sioux Falls, SD. and were the parents to one daughter, Patty.

Preceding Elsa in death were her husband, Harold; daughter, Patty; sister, Ruth; and her parents, Erick and Esther. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Lange-Kammerer and brother, Delbert Erickson. Elsa was an inspiration to her nephews, nieces, many friends and the staff and residents of Lakeview Senior Housing of Balaton, MN.

Elsa's cremated remains will be sent for burial to the Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, SD. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral services. The family requests no memorials be sent to them. Anyone wishing to make a donation in memory of Elsa, please send them directly to the charity of your choice.

I will miss my beloved Aunt Elsa, we had a long and and loving relationship, for my whole life. I hope Patty and Harold were waiting to welcome her.
