Herdis Rudd Obituary
Herdis Irene Tevis Rudd, 99, died on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Whispering Heights, Rock Valley, Iowa. Herdis, formerly of Huron, South Dakota, died peacefully surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, June 5, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Rock Valley with Father Bruce Lawler officiating. Burial will follow at Altoona Cemetery in Hitchcock, South Dakota. Visitation, with the family present, will be held one hour prior to mass from 10:00-11:00 AM at the church.
She is survived by her three children, Dagmar (Don) Rudd, Silver City, New Mexico; Della (Billie) Ranschau, Rock Valley, Iowa; John (Debbie) Rudd, Estherville, Iowa; son-in-law Guy Croucher, Aberdeen, South Dakota; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Norvin (Mary Ellen) Rudd, Huron, South Dakota; sisters-in-law Joni Rudd, Green Bay, Wisconsin and Adaline Busby, Amarillo, Texas; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Herdis and her family lived across the street from my family when we were growing up and up until she and Bob moved out of town. I became very good friends with there son Paul. She was always very friendly and I was always welcome in their home. When ever I returned to Huron to visit my family it was always nice to visit with them
