Marlynn "Molly" Stensaas

Marlynn "Molly" Stensaas, 86, of Sioux Falls, died Saturday, November 5, 2016 at her home at Good Samaritan Assisted Living.

Marlynn "Molly" Emma Liesinger was born to Harry and Juliette (Kolaas) Liesinger on October 13, 1930 on a farm north of Humboldt, SD. She attended country school near Humboldt until the 8th grade and graduated from Humboldt High School. Molly married Albert Stensaas at West Wall Lake Zion Lutheran Church on March 19, 1950. She was married to Albert for 64 years. They farmed south of Humboldt for 62 years then in 2012, moved to the Good Samaritan Assisted Living Facility in Sioux Falls, SD. Albert preceded her in death on July 30, 2014.

Molly worked hard on the farm and had other jobs at John Morrell's, Raven Industries, The Printing Center, and Print Right Printing. Molly was very active at Zion Lutheran Church where she was baptized, confirmed and married. She enjoyed participating in the American Legion Auxiliary. Molly enjoyed attending all her children and grandchildren's sporting and musical events. Molly enjoyed plants, flowers and gardening, and watching the Twins play. She liked playing cards, Yahtzee and bingo. She loved to collect angels and has almost 100 figurines. She enjoyed being with people and was always fun and helpful to everyone. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Greg (Tammy) Stensaas of Sioux Falls, SD, and Jeff (Laela) Stensaas, Canistota, SD; one daughter, Marlene (Gari) Gratzfeld of Vermillion, SD; four grandchildren, Chad Stensaas, Samantha (Gary) Hannon, Richard Stensaas and Angela Stensaas; one great grandson, Alexander Albert Hannon; one brother, Ted Liesinger of Bridgewater, SD; three sisters, Cindy Boy and Barb Josten of Sioux Falls, SD and Phyllis Poppen of De Smet, SD; one brother-in-law, Harlan Stensaas and his wife, Vianne; one sister-in-law, Malinee Stensaas and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, including many throughout South Dakota.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Richard Stensaas; her parents; three siblings and their spouses, Walter Liesinger and his wife Bonnie, Russell Liesinger and his wife Amy and Ardys Tweed and her husband Curtis; her brothers-in-law, Gerald, Howard and Wesley Stensaas, Chester Stuen, Ed Gebhart, John Poppen, Joe Josten, Larry Blackwell, and Elwood Boy; sisters-in-law, Marie Stuen, Helen McBride, Betty Liesinger, Darlene Stensaas and Elsie Blackwell; nephews, Ronald Stuen and Mike McBride; her nieces, Marjorie Gebhart and Vicki McBride.

Funeral services will begin 1:00 pm Saturday at West Wall Lake Zion Lutheran Church, 26313 462nd Avenue, Hartford, SD. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5:30-7:30 pm Friday, with a time of prayer and sharing beginning at 7:00 pm at Miller Westside Funeral Chapel, 6200 West 41st Street in Sioux Falls.
