My darling aqua Shay. She was one of the most inspiring people I knew–always figuring out a way to get back up after every hardship that befell her. She helped me grow and get out of my shell, enticed me to live freely without shame, and inspired confidence in being yourself whole-heartedly. She always knew how to make someone laugh, and she cared deeply about the world and the people in it. Some things she couldn't shake, despite her strength. Every year in August I think of her. Every year in February when her birthday comes I think of her. Every time I listen to Into the Mystic I think of her and her unyielding love for her papa. I miss her every day, and I know that whenever I dance unashamed, whenever I stand up for myself, whenever I am kind to myself, she is with me, cheering me on. I love you Shay, and I know you're dancing with your papa now.

Shayla first touched my heart when she was a toddler. I visited Jannette and stayed a few days with my boys. I had my leather coat on the day we left and she put little sunshine and rainbow sticker all over my coat so i wouldn't forget. And i never did, those stickers were on there for years, and although I never was apart of her life I can't help but cry. May she rest in peace.

Shayla grew up next door to us. She was best friends with my daughter Bekkah. I remember Shayla as a chubby cheeked third grader, pulling her two little brothers in a red wagon with so much pride. She loved her brothers like a second mother. I remember holidays and seasons changes as the years went by and she got bigger and more beautiful. Shayla could light up a room and a mood just with a smile that would reach all the way up to her big green eyes. Those fifteen years of memories are treasured and never forgotten, wish we had time to make more of them. We love and miss you Shayla. Be at peace sweetheart. ❤

Shayla and I never met in person but we talked quite a lot on social media. She was a beautiful person with a huge heart, she had demons and did her best to fight them off, but they were strong. She knew she was loved, and that's all that matters now. I hope she is finally at peace.
Shayla, thank you for coming into my life and reminding me that we are never alone in our addictions. I love you angel.

I only got the chance to hangout with you once and the first thing you said to me was "you are so beautiful" and I needed that boost that day because I was really down. You tunred my mood around with a contagious smile and 4 words...everyone come into our lives for a reason weather it be 2 minuites or 2 years. You came into mine to remind me that I am beautiful inside and out and I will no longer down on myself because of you. I pray your family and friends can soon take everything you taught them and positivity add it to their everyday living. You are not gone, you are now an angel who will never leave your loved ones sides. They may not be able to see you but let them know your there and your no longer suffering and I pray that, that smile is permanently on your face now. Your vibe was beautiful and pure, and you left a beautiful mark on so many people's lives it looks like. Rest In Paradise and I will see you again someday Shay
