William Bledsoe Obituary
William Carlyle Bledsoe, 94, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on December 9, 2023. Born on December 8, 1929, in Ashe County, NC.
He was the only son of the late William Marcus (Bill) Bledsoe and Dewey Bare Bledsoe. He was a member of Maple Springs United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem. He attended Appalachian State and North Carolina State graduating with a BS in Animal Science and a Masters in Adult Education. He held various positions with the Agricultural Extension Service before retiring as the Extension TVA District Supervisor. He also served 2 years as an Army Sargent stationed in North Korea. He had a passion for photography, genealogy, farming, mission outreach, traveling, and teaching.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, his cherished wife Marilyn Weaver Bledsoe. Those left to cherish his memory include his children Mark Bledsoe (Linda), Dan Bledsoe (Sharon), and Betty Lee Meikle (Robbie); his grandchildren Keneth Bledsoe (Annette), Lisa Arnold (Derek), John Bledsoe, Sarah Bledsoe, Celeste Cook (Chris), Connor Meikle; his great-grandchildren Caedy and Carlyle Crum Cook, Will and Ellie Bledsoe.
Services celebrating the life of William Carlyle Bledsoe will be held at 1PM Saturday February 10 at Boone Family Funeral Home in West Jefferson. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. His ashes will be interred following the service at Senter Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Crumpler, NC.
For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Senter Baptist Church, 578 Nathen's Creek School Road, Crumpler, NC 28617.
