David Lawence Good

David Lawence Good of Bayfield, WI went to soar with eagles after a long and brave battle with cancer on August 6th at the age of 75.

He was born in Ashland, WI where he grew up and attended Northland College and graduated in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts. At Northland College, he met the love of his life, Lynda L. Good. They were married on August 25, 1973. He worked for Northern States Power Company in Ashland before moving to Vadnais Heights, MN where they raised their kids until 1997. When he retired, he started his own business and moved back up to Bayfield to continue building a home for the family. He served the community in many capacities; the President of the Rotary in Ashland WI, sat on the Board of Directors for Northland College, served as the Town Clerk/Treasurer for the Town of Russell and as the Bayfield County Board Supervisor.

He will be remembered as an amazing and strong father, brother, and loving husband. He was a wealth of knowledge that touched many lives and fixed many things. He loved and treasured his family above all. Always kind, patient and loved learning and sharing his knowledge with others, especially his granddaughters.

David was preceded in death by his father, David K. Good, and mother, Betty L. Good. He is survived by his wife, Lynda, his brother, Jeffrey Good and his wife, Peggy, his daughter,Kathleen (Katie) and her husband, David (Dave) Gellatly, his son, David (Davy) and his wife, Christine, and his granddaughters that he cherished greatly, McKenna Good and Laurel Gellatly.

A Celebration of Life will be held on the 25th of August 2024, the 51st anniversary of his marriage to Lynda, at The Town of Russell Community Center located at 32500 Old County K, Bayfield 11am-2pm. All are welcome. He was given more time with his family because of the life saving blood he received. Please consider donating blood in his honor.
