WASHBURN - Lorraine Edna Westling, age 80, died peacefully of natural causes on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Aspen Health & Rehab/Essentia Health St. Mary Hospice in South Range, WI with some of her family by her side. Lorraine was born on September 21, 1944, to Lawrence and Bessie (Bacon) Barthels in Town of Wien, WI. On November 7th, 1964, she married Wayne Westling in Cornucopia, WI.
Lorraine worked along side her husband as a turkey farm manager for Willmar Poultry in MN from around 1978 to 1993. After retirement, around 1996, they moved back to Washburn, WI.
Lorraine loved her family and her grandkids. She was a caring and loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed fishing; crocheting blankets and scarfs; thoughtfully making stamped cards for birthdays, Holidays, and other occasions including get well, thinking of you and thank you; and, she loved nature, especially watching deer, raccoons, squirrels and birds. She enjoyed traveling with her family; and, she liked watching cooking shows and the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. Lorraine was an extremely resilient and determined person who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Lorraine is survived by her husband, Wayne of Washburn, WI; three daughters, Vicki Westling, Washburn, WI; Sheila (Mark) Jonas, Columbia Heights, MN; Bobbie Jo (Scott) Harper, Monticello, MN; twelve grandchildren, Amanda Klukas, Andrea Westling, Erica (Jake) Hacker, Samantha Jonas, Madalyn Jonas, Luke Jonas, Grant Jonas, Sophia Jonas, Jenna Jonas, Deavon Harper, Derrek Harper, Ava Harper; nine great-grandchildren, Kelsey Wright, Kylie Jackson, Kaitlyn Jackson, Wade Hacker, Scarlett Hacker, Savannah Hacker, Aubree Hacker, Baylee Hacker, and Madison Hacker; one brother, Lawrence (Barb) Barthels, Nekoosa, WI.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Payne; sisters, Mabel "Toots" Patrick and Virginia "Jeanie" Ringoen.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 22nd from 1pm to 5pm in Washburn, WI. Contact the family for details.
