MCKENA LEEANN VANVLECK McKena LeeAnn VanVleck, 21 years old, formerly of Atchison, KS, passed away on Sunday, May 11th, 2025, at the Jackson N. Medical Center, North Miami, FL. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 29th, 2025, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jacob Dandy, Pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Private family-only Interment of cremated remains will be at a later time in the St. Leo's Catholic Cemetery, Horton, KS. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 28th, 2025, at the funeral home. McKena was born on December 17, 2003, in Topeka, KS, the daughter of Larry VanVleck and Carrie Gilbert. She attended Trinity Lutheran Grade School and Atchison Elementary School. McKena graduated from Horton High School in 2022. She moved to Miami and worked as a waitress at local restaurants. McKena enjoyed playing soccer, walking on the beach, and animals and was a people person. Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Carrie & Josh Sinclair, Everest, KS, her father and step-mother Larry (Christy) VanVleck, Topeka, KS, brothers Cody Sinclair, Atchison, KS, Andrew Sinclair, Topeka, KS, Isaac Sinclair, Atchison, Chase VanVleck, Topeks, KS, and half brother Justin VanVleck, Topeka, KS, Maternal Grandfather Timothy (Debbie) Gilbert, Carbondale, KS. Paternal Grandfather Omer VanVleck, Topeka, KS, Maternal Great Grandmother Connie Earl, Atchison, KS, Maternal Grandparents Richard and Willette Sinclair, Atchison, KS. She was preceded in death by brothers Riley and Corey VanVleck, Maternal Grandmother Deb Gilbert, and Paternal Grandmother Judy VanVleck.
