Monroe Caroline Bruner Dean passed away in her sleep in Monroe, Ohio on November 21, 2024. She was born in Cleveland Ohio on September 13, 1927. Her Parents were Mildred Benson Bruner and Abram B. Bruner. Her childhood was spent in Shaker Heights along with her siblings Mary, William (Bill/Knobs) and Henry (Bus). Cary received her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (RN) from Skidmore College in 1949 and worked as a Health Department nurse in New York City. She later received a Master's Degree from Ohio University.

She met Henry Herbert Dean, Jr. (Hank) at the Alpha Delta Fraternity house at Connecticut Wesleyan. They married February 3, 1951. The family has lived in Ohio, Minnesota, Connecticut, and finally back in Ohio in the late 1960s, where Cary finished her career as the Head Nurse of Obstetrics at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital.

Following their retirement, Cary and Hank enjoyed traveling to visit friends and family. They fondly recalled their journeys to Botswana, Brazil, Canada, and numerous places within the U.S., including Alaska. She is survived by her husband (Hank) and their children: Ken, Leslie, Howard, and Marty.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the O'Bleness Hospital Healthy Moms and Babies Fund with the OhioHealth Foundation, 3430 OhioHealth Parkway, Columbus, Ohio 43202
