Christine Brannon Obituary

Athens Christine Brannon,76, of Athens, passed away at her home after a long illness. She was born January 8, 1949, in Cleveland,Ohio, to the late Gerald Bowers and Gladys Thompson Bowers.

Christine was a 1967 graduate of Shaker Heights High School, and earned a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the University of Cincinnati. She and her husband, Bob,were co-owners of Brannon Graphics, a graphic design studio which they founded in January 1986. Christine also served as the art director.Christine had a deep love for animals, particularly her cats and dogs. Shespent many years training her Irish setters, golden retrievers and poodles, and formed a special bond with her belovedstandard poodle, Charlie. An avid birdwatcher, Christine diligently fed her wild birds throughout all seasons. She tracked the many different species that visited her feeders, and named many of the individuals that came most frequently, especially the bossy ones.

Her profound love for nature extended to the plants and animals on the 80-acre farm that she and her husband tended there for many years. Gardening and spending time outdoors were among her greatest passions, and her garden yielded an abundance of vegetables to be shared with her family, friends and neighbors.

Above all, Christine was a devoted wife, a loving sister and aunt, and a true friend.Christine is survived by her husband of 49 years, Robert(Bob) Brannon; one sister, Jan (Will Linder) Bowers; three nephews, EricLinder, Eric Brannon, and Scott Brannon; and one niece, Molly Linder.

She is preceded in death by her parents.
