Jesse McKee Obituary
Born March 31, 1947, in Athens, Ohio, he was the son of the late Jesse James and Essie Rice McKee Sr. Jesse was a 1965 graduate of Waterloo High School. He was the owner/operator of his own trucking company until 1986 when he and his wife started McKee Auto Parts. Jesse had a passion for Ford vehicles.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Peggy McKnabb McKee; one daughter, Tammy (Ed) Harding; two sons, Jesse "JR" (Dawn) McKee and Jonathan (Kristen) McKee; eight grandchildren, Ben Cochran, Bretta Taylor, Colt (Molle) Taylor, Jesse "Spider" (Sarah) McKee, Jonna (Jeremiah) McKee, Braydin McKee, Piper McKee and Benny Harding; four great grandchildren; three brothers, Carl (Charlotte) McKee, Russell McKee and Dan (Nancy) McKee; two sisters, Viola Smith and Marcia Haskell and his loving dog, Baby.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Don, Stanley and Evert and two brothers-in-law, Larry Smith and Ollie Haskell.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 12, 2024, at the Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home in Athens with Pastor Larry Swart officiating. Burial will follow in the Alexander Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home.
A luncheon will follow the service on Friday at the Ohio University Inn.

Mike and I are so sorry for your loss. I truely believe he is with you. I remember coming up to Mckee to get tires and he would be sitting there in his chair and we would chat. I enjoyed talking with him. I know he will be missed very much, not only by his family of course but all of his friends. Please know I’m keeping you all in my prayers. Sending hugs.

He will be missed by many ! I meet Jesse in early 70s when I lived on Grass Run Rd. I remember one day him stopping at my father in laws garage on grass run , we were all there working on a car , He said I am thinking of starting a junk yard , Do you guys think it will get plenty of business and will you guys buy parts from me , well you no the answers
They were yes and yes that was close to 45 yrs ago ! RIP Jesse and save me a seat for when we meet again !

Jesse was always a good friend of my dad, Dave Trout. I still remember years ago him telling me that he would buy me a pizza and a 6pk of Pepsi for him parking a semi he bought at my dad’s. Haha! My Dad and Jesse would go on long drives just looking for something to buy and you never knew what they would come back with. I always enjoyed talking to Jesse when I would go to the junkyard about old stories of my Dad before he passed away in 2015. RIP Jesse, say hi to my Dad for me!
