Juanita Young Obituary
She attended The Plains High School and was a lifelong Athens County resident. She was a homemaker in the family home and raised many foster children in addition to her daughter, step-children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Juanita is survived by grandchildren; great grandchildren; great, great grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Brooks of The Plains; a sister in law, Sharon Jones of Athens; and a nephew and nieces.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Gilkey; her second husband, John Young; a daughter, Rita Jones; a step-daughter, Beverly Green; a great granddaughter, Stephanie Call; a great, great grandson, Aiden Huerta; two brothers, Paul Jones and Robert Jones; her brother in law, Pearl "Tubb" Brooks; and a nephew, Jeffery Jones.
A private family service will be held Thursday at Athens Memory Gardens with Pastor Stan West officiating. Arrangements are with Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens. Please share a memory, a note of condolence or sign the online register at www.jagersfuenralhome.com. Juanita Young

To the family of Juanita, I send my condolences.
So sorry to hear of her passing.
So many memories of going to her house being friends of David, Roger, and Buzz as kids growing up.
I know she will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Always Loved Sister Juanita. We had a lot of good times at church. She would always bring me her beets she made. Was happy I got to visit her a couple times right before she passed away. She was very respectful to my parents. You will be missed!

I Love You So Much Grandma. I´m going to miss you like crazy but I´m So Happy for You that you are No Longer in Pain and that you are Reunited with Papa and your two girls. I´m going to miss you like crazy. I´ll miss our weekly phone calls. I have talked to you every week since Papa went to Heaven except for the year and a half after my stroke.
I´ll probably get to call you out of habit but you in a Far Better Place than here on Earth.
Save Me A Spot to visit you in your Mansion when I get there. I can´t wait to see you & Mom Again. I Love You Grandma! Rest Easy!!
