Karla Cominsky

Glouster Karla Mae Molnar Cominsky, 88 of Glouster passed away Tuesday October 28, 2025, at Kimes Nursing and Rehab Center, Athens. Born December 8, 1936, in Glouster, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Uarda Price Molnar. She graduated from Glouster High School in 1954. While still in school, she began working at Charlie Beshara's and after graduating, she held various positions at several local businesses and institutions. These included the Glouster Bank, Athens County Treasurer's Office, People's Bank of Nelsonville, and the office of Dr. David Grubbs. Karla also served on the Glouster City Council for several years and she was a member of the Glouster Church of Christ. Karla was an avid quilter, participating in the Sew-N-Sew Quilt Guild in Athens and the lady's quilting group at the Bishopville Church of Christ.

She is survived by a daughter, Andrea (Tad) Gallaugher of Athens; two granddaughters, Lindsey (Mason Fields) Gallaugher of Lima and Lisa (Davey) Strausbaugh of Athens; two brothers, Barney (Kathy) Molnar of Huntington, WV and Jerry (Alice) Molnar of Crown City, OH; a brother-in-law, Bibbie Exline of Shallotte, NC; special nieces, Susan Molnar and Julie Davis; a great nephew, Ethan Davis; her beloved cat, Sadie; and numerous friends in Glouster.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew T. Cominsky who passed away in 2022; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Regina Cominsky; and sisters-in-law, Patty (Carl) Roberts and Cecilia Exline.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kimes Nursing Home and Home Reach Hospice for the comfort and care they provided.

A cremation has taken place and there will be no services observed.
