To Steve and family, Sorry to hear of your loss. I didn't see the obituary until after the event as the Messenger isn't delivered until the afternoon. I would have attended. One memory I have is selling Girl Scout cookies every year. Your Mom always bought cookies. She said she looked forward to seeing me! May the peace of the Lord be with you all today and always, Kira Hazen Burns

I was saddened to hear the news of Mary passing. Mary and Bill were my neighbors in Athens and my family couldn't have been more blessed to have these two living next door. Mary was extremely kind and always took an interest in our schooling and sports as we were growing up. Some of my fondest memories included going over to the Rader's home around Christimas time. It became a tradition and the Raders treated us like family. My condolences to Steve and Lucy and their spouses Rick and Rhoni.

I know Mary is at peace now, but I also know that it is so hard for anyone to lose their beloved mother. Mary was, in fact, beloved by many! She was like family to me and my family! I will be eternally thankful for all the kindnesses and thoughtfulness she showed us! She was genuinely a smart, clever, and witty woman! Her social graces and hospitality were second to none! I offer my heartfelt sympathy and love to her family, especially Steve and Lucy, as well as Rick and Rhoni! May she be granted eternal rest.

Lucy and Steve, your mother was our real estate agent when we moved to Athens, and your family lived next door to my bff, Lorena. Your mom was lovely, inside and out. But you already know that about her. What we also came to know about her was that she was kind, knowledgeable, hard-working, courteous, and patient with us (first time home-buyers with no money and just a promise of a job at the college of medicine). We still live in the house she found for us, so memories of her live here, too. Please accept our sincere condolences, Terri Ann and Jim Foglesong
