Bessie Sloan Obituary
Family-Placed Death Notice
Ms. Bessie Mae Sloan was born March 24, 1927 in Glenwood, GA. The third child of the late T.W. Wright and Annie Bell (Jones) Wright. She was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church of the Rockdale Community. She attended Booker T. Washington High School and Blanton Business School in Atlanta before she went to Brooklyn, NY in 1960. She joined the Little Mount Calvary Baptist Church in New York. On May 26, 2003 God called her home. She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted niece and good friend, Ms. Johnnie Pearl Berry whom she looked upon as a daughter, two aunts, Lavada Baker of New York, NY, Lillie Grant of Vidalia, GA, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends that loved her very much. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 29 at Elizabeth Chapel Dawson's Mortuary with Rev. Michael Smith officiating. Interment, Resthaven Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the residence at 287 Fennel Way, S.W. at 9:45 a.m. Alfonso Dawson Mortuary, 404-691-3810.
