DeGRAY, Brian R. Brian R. DeGray, age 75, of Lilburn, GA., passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2015. A memorial mass will be said at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Lilburn, GA., with Fr. Sunny Punnakuziyil and Deacon Greg Ollick serving as celebrants. Brian was born in Ottawa, Canada to the late Richard and Lila DeGray. He is survived by his beloved brother, Wayne DeGray and sister-in-law, Gale DeGray of Lilburn, GA. In 1953, Brian moved from Ottawa, Canada to Atlanta with his family at the age of 13. He graduated from Murphy High School in Atlanta in 1957 and from Georgia State University in 1961. With his career spanning 30 years in the teaching profession, he taught in his early years at Spring Street School in Atlanta and then with the International Schools Systems, with positions throughout the world including Maracaibo, Venezuela, Recife, Brazil and Indonesia. Through his many years of teaching throughout the world, he had friends in many countries. In his teaching career he was affectionately known as "Mr. D" to his students. Brian had a host of loving caring friends in the Gwinnett area and his singles family at St. John Neumann. He had a wonderful sense of humor and Brian's greatest joy in life was his wonderful friends and his love of traveling around the world. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Thursday in the Church Narthex.
