Brian Hunt Obituary

HUNT, Brian James

Brian James Hunt, age 77, of Marietta, Georgia, died suddenly on Saturday, February 7, 2026. Brian was a dear friend and mentor to many and a strong believer in Christ. He was a devoted husband to Sarah. He was a loving father to his six children, Joshua Hunt, Emily Goswick (Clay), Katherine Hunt (Sam Unger), Elizabeth Brooks (Jeremy), Rebecca Hunt and John Hunt; and grandfather to his six grandchildren, Emerson, Nora Beth, Scarlet and Joseph Brooks, and Haven and Heidi Goswick.

A native of Rochester, New York, Brian served four years in the United States Air Force before graduating from Barton College in Wilson, North Carolina in 1977. He then began his career as a marketing agent, which led him to Atlanta. Brian's noteworthy career included long periods at Pizza Hut, Inc., Reebok International and Hardee's Food Systems, Inc. before he started his own marketing consulting business, where he consulted for multiple Fortune 500 companies, including Coca Cola.

God profoundly transformed Brian's life, and he devoted himself to seeing others changed by the hope of the gospel. Choosing not to rest in retirement, Brian embraced a new mission field in the classroom at Johnson Ferry Christian Academy, where his faith, humility, and love for others impacted countless lives.

Brian's love for the Lord was evident in all that he did. He shared Christ's love with everyone he met. Brian was active in his church, Johnson Ferry Baptist, and his hobbies included cycling, reading, grilling, spending time with his family and cheering on the Buffalo Bills.

Brian is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren; as well as his four brothers, Scott Hunt (Raechel), Bruce Hunt (Barbara), Mark Hunt (Elizabeth) and Chris Hunt (Bonnie); and one sister, Mary Griffo (John); and fourteen nieces and nephews. Brian was predeceased by his parents; and brother, Douglas Hunt.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 20, at 1:00 PM, at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, 955 Johnson Ferry Rd., Marietta, Georgia 30068.
