MOORE, Byron "Randall" Byron "Randall" Moore, age 87, of Alpharetta, GA, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2015. Born on April 6, 1928 in Alpharetta, GA. He was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church of Alpharetta. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the US Coast Guard. He retired after 35 years as a civilian worker from the Atlanta Army Depot Fort Gillem, GA. He was the first full-time Mayor of Alpharetta in 1976 and also served as a city councilman for 14 years. He retired as Head of Security from Piedmont Hospital Atlanta, GA. He also enjoyed working for Honda Carland in Roswell, GA. He loved his family, his church and serving his community. Randall was a kind genuine man who was loved by everyone that knew him. Randall was a blessing to this world and his family. He will be dearly missed. Randall is preceded in death by his parents, Bertha and E.P. Moore; wife of 44 years, Johnnie Wall Moore; brothers, Billy, Ed, and Benny Moore; and a sister, Sue Roper. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Betty Moore; sons, David (Carol) Moore and Randy Moore; grandchildren, Chase, Colby, and Cameron Moore; sister, Emily Castleberry; 4 stepchildren Diane Stacey, Marie Richards, Clay Waltzer and Jamie Waltzer; 7 step-grandchildren, and 5 step-great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. There will be a visitation held at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, and Thursday, June 25, 2015, from 11 AM to 2 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM each day. Funeral services will be held at Alpharetta First Baptist Church on Friday, June 26, 2015. Mr. Moore will lie in-state at 1 PM with the service starting at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Alpharetta First Baptist Church Building fund.
