Charles INGRAHAM Obituary

INGRAHAM, Sr., Charles Walker 1955 2016 Charles "Chip" Walker Ingraham, Sr., age 60, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 23, after a long battle with cancer, which he himself characterized as a gift through which he learned to be grateful in all things. Chip was born on September 21, 1955, in Atlanta to Charles John Ingraham, Jr. and Marion Walker Ingraham. He graduated from the Lovett School in 1973 and received his B.S.E.S. in 1977 from Vanderbilt University. He went on to attend Emory University School of Law where he earned his J.D. in 1980. For more than 30 years, Chip practiced construction law and commercial litigation. Most recently, he was a Senior Equity Partner with Seyfarth Shaw where he chaired the Atlanta office's litigation department and co-chaired the firm's national construction practice. More than the national recognition he received, Chip valued the opportunity to mentor junior attorneys. Chip's contribution to others was not limited to his work place. He served in numerous leadership roles, including serving as Senior Warden for the Vestry at St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church and on the Board of Trustees at St. Martin's School and Mt. Pisgah Christian School. Additionally, he was a member of the Board of Directors of Hillside and the National Foundation to End Senior Hunger. His dedication to his career and community were eclipsed only by the love he had for family, friends and his strong faith. Chip provided advice to those in need of guidance and strength to those in need of encouragement. His sense of humor and love of life were contagious. He drew upon his faith in God to share all of these qualities with those he loved. Even in great sickness, Chip found comfort and gratitude in his deep faith and trust that God was the source of hope and love. Chip is survived by his wife Karen Campbell Ingraham; his children Margaret ("Meg") Ingraham Campbell and her husband Todd Campbell of Charlottesville, Virginia, and Charles ("Chase") Walker Ingraham, Jr.; his step-children Lauren Theresa Campbell, McKenna Marie Campbell, and James ("Jimmy") Martin Campbell IV; his sister Margaret ("Peggy") Bartlum Ingraham of Alexandria, Virginia; and many other close relatives and friends. His Memorial Service is planned for this Tuesday, July 26th at 4:00pm at Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church (2850 Old Alabama Road, Johns Creek, GA 30022). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (2302 Parklake Dr NE # 210, Atlanta, GA 30345) and Free to Breathe (1 Point Place, Suite 200, Madison, WI 53719).

I just found out about this in the Lovett magazine that came in the mail this week. Chip was in my class at Lovett, and was one of the truly nicest people. He will be missed, and my heart goes out to his family and friends for your loss.

I just found out about this while reading the GA Bar Journal. Mr. Ingraham was a truly, truly nice man. I'm so sad. I'm saying prayers for he and his family. I'll never forget some of the very nice chats we had. I will truly miss him.
