Christopher JERNIGAN Obituary
Dr. Christopher Owen "Chris" Jernigan, age 67 of Canton, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Northside Gwinnett Medical Center.
Dr. Jernigan was an Orthodontist in Canton, GA. for over 35 years. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a B.S. in Biology. He followed this graduating from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry, DMD; and St. Louis University, M.S. in Orthodontics. Dr. Jernigan was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church in Roswell, GA.
The family will receive friends at Lebanon Baptist Church in Roswell on Friday, August 13 from 5-8 PM. The funeral will be at Lebanon Baptist Church on Saturday, August 14 at 11 AM with Dr. Brian Peterson officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Memorial Park. He is survived by: wife of 34 years, Julie Chris Jernigan of Canton; mother, Jane Jernigan of Canton; son, Joshua Jernigan of Albany; daughters Hannah (Alex) Stephens of Nashville, TN, Adelyn Jernigan of Canton, and Sophie Jernigan of Nashville, TN; brothers Mark Jernigan of Miami, FL and Rob Jernigan of Los Angeles, CA; and grandchild, Ava Stephens, born August 3, 2021.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Lebanon Baptist Church Missionary Fund.
"Most importantly, Chris loved Jesus and followed Him as his Lord and Savior. If Chris could talk to you right now, he would make sure you know that Jesus loves you, and that Jesus lived, died, was buried, resurrected, and now lives forever, to save you from sin and death and to give you new life with Him for eternity."

Josh, I cannot tell you how sorry I am to hear about your Father leaving his early home. But we all know that to be absent from here is to be present with the Lord! I know my Mommy and others that have gone on home before him will welcome him with open arms to eternity where we will one day all be united again! If you were still at DCG, I would lay hands and pray over you just as you did for me, but please know that I´m praying for you even though you aren´t here. I wish you and your family peace that surpasses your own understanding and continued comfort!

Dr. Jernigan's life has been a blessing to all who've encountered him. He never failed to encourage & uplift his patients and families. My 3 siblings and I were sad when we got our braces off because of how much we would miss seeing him and the sweet office staff. He truly shared the light and love of Christ with his every word. I am glad that he has finally heard "well done, my good and faithful servant." and that I will see him again someday

Our son is a patient of Dr. Jernigan´s. On the recommendation of my sister in law we drove 96 miles round trip. Out of all the criteria, It was Dr Jernigan´s Godly Character that was our deciding factor to choose him as our sons doctor. Thankful, Grateful, Blessed to have know him and the example of what he showed our son about sharing the word and love of Jesus will never be forgotten!! Our prayers and love are with his family, staff & friends. We will see you in heaven Dr Jernigan!!!

We met him for a consult for our handicapped daughter Cara. We weren´t sure Cara would be able to get her braces. She was really afraid. The moment Dr Jernigan came in Cara was so calm with him. We couldn´t believe how easy it was for her!!! She actually loved having braces. He was such a kind man!!!
