Coy LANDER Obituary

LANDER, Jr., Coy Randolph "Rand" Coy Randolph (Rand) Lander, Jr., aged 63, passed away at his home on December 12, 2017. Born on September 8, 1954 in Pittsburgh, PA, Rand attended The Trinity School, The Westminster Schools and graduated from Darlington. He later graduated from Georgia State University. Rand enjoyed a good book, rock n' roll music and a healthy political debate. Most of all, he loved spending time with his niece and nephews. Rand was an Eagle Scout from Troop 212 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, which later in life led to a love of volunteering and helping others. He found a true passion for counseling those on the road to recovery. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Lander, his brother Roy, sister-in-law Elise and nephew Foster and his sister Patti, niece Sara and nephew Jack. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 at the Dobbs Chapel at Trinity Presbyterian Church at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association, The Boy Scouts of America, or the charity of your choice.

My deepest and most heartfelt condolences to everyone grieving the loss of this most interesting man. I went to Westminster with Rand and we played in a band together for most of our high school years. Today, for some reason I decided to look him up and chat... only to discover that he'd passed on only a couple of weeks ago. Again, I want to express my profound condolences to you all. May God bless all of you in this new year to come and ever after. - Billy Shaw
