My deepest condolences from the bottom of my heart.
I grew up watching him on tv from Mexico, City. Those nasty fights against the Browns. In '98 I had the honor, privilege and the pleasure of meeting him. What an incredible person!! in 2001 I worked for a local Hispanic sports newspaper interviewing, and taking pictures. Then I had the opportunity of talking in a more serious way, but talking about we both love the most, FOOTBALL. 2 days after he passed away my died 11 months ago of coronavirus. I know both met each other and my mom told him how much I admire him. For me coach Reeves was not just an exfootball player and a coach. He was family. Him and
coach Bill Walsh were, are and will be my favorites, and I'm double bless. I met both. God bless you all.
Kindest regards,
Martin Sordo Rivas

My great grandfather Rev. Osborn Reeves and wife, Rebecca Osborn-Reeves from Calhoun, Georgia ( roughly 30 miles from Dan´s birthplace, Rome, GA. both towns were in Gordon Co.) raised his family prior and after the Civil War. Several years later, all but one(Haywood) of the Rev.´s sons,( lost 3 of their sons in the war) left Calhoun/Reeves, Ga. for Ft. Worth, Texas area between 1866 to 1885. When Dan played for the Gamecocks at U. of So. Carolina, Our Reeves family rooted for Dan, rooted for him with the Dallas Cowboys and everywhere he was a head football Coach in Professional Football. Besides being an outstanding athlete in high school, college and pro ball, Dan did everything with style and class. We were always proud of him! Whether or not we are kin to Dan, we do not know; but, since we came from the same county in Georgia, Gordon county. Our line of the Reeves family always hopped we were kin to his line of the Reeves family. We will miss him... But hope to see him in Heaven one day! Thanks for setting a fine example for all of us too follow! Coach Diz Reeves, San Antonio, Tx.

I want to extend my deepest and heart-felt condolences to the family of Dan Reeves. As the sports editor for the Americus Times-Recorder in Americus, GA, Reeves's' home town, I had the pleasure of meeting him when he came down here four years ago and was the honorary captain during the coin toss before the Americus-Sumter Panthers took on the Shaw Raiders. He was very kind and personable as I'm sure he was to everyone he met during his life. He was a great, great man.

Coach Reeves - I had the honor of being a member of the Falcons´ front office when you coached here. You ALWAYS treated everyone in the organization with the utmost respect and kindness - such a rarity in today´s NFL. I´ll never forget that frigid day in Green Bay when you unleashed the perfect game plan to beat the Packers for the first time in the playoffs at Lambeau Field. But I´ll also never forget your last day with Falcons, when you came around to everyone´s office, delivering a bag of Georgia-grown pecans and sharing memories with each and every staff member. You didn´t have to do that...but that´s who you were. On that day you complimented and encouraged me as I was beginning my own NFL career, and your words stick with me to this day. You were a class act, a brilliant coach, and an amazing human being. You will be missed by so many, Coach Reeves. My deepest condolences to your family.

I met Dan in Viet-Nam through the USO tour. I was stationed in the Mekong Delta when his group came to visit us near Christmas 1968. I offered to let him fire my M-16 rifle off of a bridge and he did 9n full automatic. He was impressed needless to say and he commented about not wanting to be on the receiving end of it's fury! I was saddened at the news of his death. I wanted the family to know how much I appreciated his volunteering to the USO and visiting our unit in that remote section of Vietnam! I will never forget it as long as I live! I still have pictures of the event somewhere! RIP my friend!

Dan Reeves was such a great man and a good friend to my father, George Wright. Our Dad loved Dan, (another Gamecock football player, and friend in Atlanta), very much. Dan was man that lived his faith in Jesus Christ. We will be praying for all of the Reeves family.
