Daniel Chess Obituary
Known lovingly as Danny, born October 24, 1990, left us on Friday, September 13, 2024. The youngest of 6 children; the 'spoiled one', as alleged by his siblings, which may have been correct. But he had a unique bond with each sibling, memories they now find sustaining.
Born in Atlanta, a 'Northside baby', conceived in tribute to his Uncle Dan. Growing up in Marietta, attending St. Joseph, Blessed Trinity HS, and Georgia College. He was an excellent son.
He loved:
Sports – GA football, the Braves, and Georgetown basketball. Phenomenal at sports trivia, remembering a litany of details even from before he was born.
Harry Potter – Even better at HP trivia than his sister, but she'd argue the point. We frequently talked about visiting Harry Potter World, but never did; a cautionary tale, that.
Roller Coasters – The Hulk at Universal, Batman at 6 Flags, were particular favorites.
St. Simons Island visits.
Like so many, he suffered from depression issues, his eventual undoing. Fortunately, he is at peace.
The sun came up today, and life goes on – but he's missed desperately by family and friends…
Remembered as a sweet soul, who loved others, particularly his 7 nephews and nieces. His sister described him as a gentle giant, and we all nodded.
We will celebrate his life with a "Memorial Weekend" at St. Simons Island Presidents Day, February 15-17, 2025. Details to follow.
He is survived by his mother, Marybeth; father, Jim; Peter (Bri), Nick, Katharine (Luke), Matt, Emily (Duncan); and his nieces and nephews: Ella (Peter and Bri), Henry, Charlie and Nora (Katharine and Luke) James, John, and Hugh (Emily and Duncan).
We'd recommend the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention for donations. Peace.

Danny had a kind soul, infectious enthusiasm and an unmatched ability to listen (and argue!). I will always look back fondly at our time together during St. Joe´s basketball, Uniform Source shifts, and of course our years at BT. Sending love and hugs from the whole Rossello family.
