David Allen Obituary
David Gordon Allen, born April 5, 1950, died on January 6, 2021 of a Covid related illness. He was preceded in death by his son, Justin Allen, brother, Lonnie Allen, mother, Vivian Wyatt, and father, Alfred Allen.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Pam Allen, daughter, Christy Allen Brown, son-in-law, Steven Brown, three grandchildren, Caiden Allen, Lee Brown and Emily Brown, sister, Joanne Durham, and brother, Gary Allen.
David proudly served as a United States Marine and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Following his service, he got his degree in Computer Science and found a love for technology in education. He worked as a computer operator for Kissimmee Schools in Florida and Cobb County Schools in Marietta. He later became Assistant Technology Director in Cobb County Schools and then advanced to Chief Information Officer of Forsyth County Schools. On nights and weekends, David volunteered at Mount Paran Christian School by providing technology services. Following his work in the public school systems, David spent more than 20 years providing leading edge technology to teachers and students through his various businesses. Throughout his career, David was deeply committed to providing state-of-the-art technology to enhance the education of our youth.
David was a devout Christian, and a committed husband, father and grandfather. His generosity, compassion and care for others knew no bounds. He will be missed by many because he was loved by many. All who knew him respected his honesty, work ethic, loyalty and passion in all that he did.
There will be a graveside service for family and friends at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mount Vernon Highway, Sandy Springs, on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 3:00 PM. The service will be live streamed at https://vimeo.com/498083911.
