Family-Placed Death Notice
THOMPSON, David Mr. David Lee Thompson age 55 of Marietta died Friday December 12 ,2008. Funeral Services will be held Monday 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna with Rev. Wayne Weeks officiating. Burial will follow in Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta. Mr. Thompson was employed as a Manager with Linde Gas for 29 years and has been a Manager with Atlanta Air Gas for the past 3 years. He was a avid golfer and was a double A Alta Tennis Champion. He was Baptist. Surviving are: Wife, Dianne Thompson of Marietta; Son and Daughter in Law, Anthony Dale & Christina Howard of Smyrna; 2 Daughters and Sons in Law Leigh Anne & Charlie Williamson of Lithia Springs and Amy & Derrick Williams of Kingston TN. 6 Grand Children. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 P.M. to 5 P.M. at the Funeral Home in Smyrna.

David was always a pleasure to be around. I am glad we all got to spend Thanksgiving with Amy and Derrick. We all had such a good time and will have those good memories to treasure.We will keep you and your family in our prayers.

David Thompson was my brother in law. Although there was a divorce, he never divorced our family. My love for David never waivered and I a piece of my heart is now missing. May each and everyone of his family remember what a caring person David Lee Thompson was.

A wonderful father in law who was like a second father to me, David’s gentle spirit and kind heart will be missed. I enjoyed our time on the golf courses together talking about life and sharing family stories. I enjoyed learning about you growing up and your family history. The leadership you took on for your siblings at a young age speaks volumes of your character as a man. Your qualities were an example to all of your children and anyone who spent time with you.
I am glad you spent Thanksgiving at our house; I know you had a wonderful time with the kids and all the family being with you. We always love you patent shout of GOOODBYEEEE that the entire neighbor could here a mile away when you pulled away in the car.
