Dear Judy, I was shocked to find that Dennis had passed. I wasn't aware that he was sick. I guess our pilot communications isn't very good these days.
Dennis and I were in the Navy Reserve together and we had some good flying there. We didn't always agree with each other but we respected each other.
I hope that you will be happy as the years go on. If there is anything I can do for you my address is 2844 Racheal Ave, Fernandina Beach, Fl

'Mehr sein als Scheinen' is a German saying that translates something like 'To be more than appear to be'. I had to think of that epitaph when I read of Dennis' passing. We trained together in 1964 and while many of the military trained pilots appeared to consider it below their dignity to have to sit in the same class with us Cessna drivers, Dennis, who had more reason than all of them to feel superior, he had a type rating on the DC6, was always our friend and helper in our struggle to become flight engines in 5 weeks. He never considered us anything but his equals. Thanks, Dennis, farewell and my condolences to his family.
