Family-Placed Death Notice

FLOYD, Dorothy DOROTHY LOUISE KENDLEY FLOYD Mrs. Dorothy Louise Kendley Floyd, age 105 of Atlanta, GA went to be with the Lord on December 20, 2010. She was the widow of the late James LaFayette Floyd. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and a former member of the Holy Comforter Episcopal Church where Mr. Floyd was a Senior Warden for many years. Mrs. Floyd was a native and life long resident of Atlanta. She was a 1922 graduate of Commercial High School of Atlanta. Dorothy is survived by her son, David LaFayette Floyd, and his wife, Patricia Harbin Floyd. Grandchildren, James Robin Floyd of Charleston, South Carolina, Patricia Jane Floyd Frank of Marietta, Georgia. Two Great Grandchildren, Taylor Robin Floyd and Lily Frank; niece, Mrs. Marion Cook of St. Augustine, Florida; nephew and niece, Mr. and Mrs. George Howard Kendley of Fairhope, Alabama and cousin, Mrs. Mary Ann Floyd Hightower of Atlanta, Georgia. Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 23 at 11am at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 2284 Candler Road, Decatur, Georgia, with Rev. William F. Carroll officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 until 6pm, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 1626 Flat Shoals Road, SE, Atlanta, Georgia 30316, in memory of Dorothy Floyd.
