Mary Beth,
Dad (Rusty) always loved Ed's sense of humor and the practical jokes that seemed to pop up every now and then. With dad and Ed together I wouldn't be surprised if they were planning some kind of mischief for you. You know how they liked a good joke! Ed always made us laugh & his stories were so entertaining. He is missed. I'm sorry we're so far away but know that our thoughts and love are with you always.

Ed made everyone's life a little brighter with his elfin smile, a funny joke, a great story, and, always, a twinkle in his eye. He was someone you always liked to be with. His portfolio of life experiences gleaned from his beloved VMI, the U.S. Army, ALUMAX, and especially as a National Geographic photographer allowed him to talk on any subject to anyone and everyone who crossed his path. We love him and miss him already.

Our family has always been grateful for the love we share with Ed and Marybeth. Though we are often separated by miles their guidence and dedication to Dan and I and our children is a tesatament to the true meaning of family.

Lots of memories. Each of us follows our path. Ed had his own drummer and we all loved him. My thoughts are now with you Mary Beth. Your friends will help you whenever needed. Ed is at peace.

Mary Beth,
I wish that I could be with you during this time. Ed was such a wonderful man who could keep everyone laughing even when he didn't intend to do so. I'll never forget the time you both attended a party and you told Ed to be on his best behavior. He was really being very good as he ate all of the potpourri. He was also ready to lend a helping hand when it was needed. Every time I look at Michelle and Chuck's wedding pictures as they walked through the Military Guard with crossed swords I think of Ed and how he helped us out at crunch time. We will all miss him greatly, but he has given us all many wonderful memories. Know that my heart and prayers are with you.
Love,
Patty

As one of Ed's VMI roomates, we enjoyed great times and particularly the past two years when we three got together and relived those memorable moments of many years ago. I will miss my old friend.
