Family-Placed Death Notice

CALVERT, Elizabeth and John Elizabeth (47) and John (48) Calvert were declared deceased on October 22, 2009. A Memorial Service honoring their lives will be held Sunday, November 15, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Northside United Methodist Church, 2799 Northside Drive, NW, Atlanta, GA 30305. Liz grew up in Atlanta, attending Fernbank Elementary and Druid Hills High School. She received her undergraduate degree from Converse College (where she later became a Trustee), and her law degree from UGA. She was an attorney for many years at UPS, and most recently an attorney at HunterMaclean in Savannah, GA. John grew up in Greensboro, NC, and later received his mechanical engineering degree at Ga Tech. He worked for several power companies including Duke Energy, and most recently was President of the Harbour Town Yacht Basin in Hilton Head, SC. Both are survived by their cat T.C. and dog Sadie. In lieu of flowers, the families are requesting contributions be made to two scholarships that have been established to honor and remember the lives of Liz and John.
