Ellen Nelson Obituary
Mrs. Ellen Nelson of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina passed away on December 25, 2020 after a long and valiant fight against cancer.
Born August 12, 1951 in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of John and Donna Slaton. Ellen had 5 brothers and sisters and grew up in Tomahawk. After attending college in South Carolina, she married Paul Clough and moved to Miami, Florida. They had two children, Tim and Kirsten who now have six children in their two families. Ellen has been a loving mother to her children and a loving grandmother to her grandchildren: Mason, Natalia, Jackson, Mia, Marley and Truman.
In 2009, Ellen married Cliff Nelson, an attorney in Atlanta, Georgia. While living in Atlanta, Ellen continued her work in furniture sales for both office and residential venues. She chose to further pursue that work when she and her husband moved to Hilton Head Island in 2014. There, they attended LowCountry Community Church.
In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so choose, they may make donations to the Hilton Head Humane Association, PO Box 21790, Hilton Head Island, SC, 29925.
Funeral services will be private and limited to family members. The Island Funeral Home and Crematory will be assisting the family. Islandfuneralhome.com.
