Ernest Duffy Obituary
"I just loved him," said City Manager Sylvia Redic, who first met him in 2002. "He had a funny, quirky sense of humor."
Duffy contributed much to Morrow as a city employee, architect and historian. In the city's center, there is a sign post, which points the direction and distances to places such as Paris, France, was Duffy's idea, which he constructed himself.
He was considered the church historian at the First Baptist Church of Morrow, where he was one of the oldest members.
Duffy's memorial service will be held Sept. 3 at First Baptist Church, 1647 Lake Harbin Road. The visitation begins at 3 p.m. and the service starts at 4 p.m.
