Family-Placed Death Notice
EVAN MICHAEL USHER Evan Michael Usher "Buddy", age 3 months, of Stone Mountain, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2005. His memory will be cherished by his parents, Michael and Rose Usher; sister, Amber Usher; brother, Andre Wilson; grandmothers, Lillie Mae McDuffie and Barbara Usher; godfather, Paul Anthony Mitchell; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 24th at 5:00 PM at Antioch AME Church, 765 South Hairston Road, Stone Mountain, GA 30088, Dr. Stafford J.N. Wicker, Senior Pastor, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation memorial fund in Evan's name. Wages & Sons, 770-469-9811.

Much has been said and will continue to be said about Evan: A Warrior, Prince, Son, Brother, Nephew, Cousin, Angel and most importantly a "Child of God." We all can take strength from "Buddy" because he taught us more in his few months than some of us learn in a lifetime: (1) live life to the fullest; (2) dream for a better tomorrow in each breath that we take; (3) always, always TRUST God. He is our rock, our salvation and our tomorrow.
Rose, Mike, Amber, and Andre-it is in times like these that we need a savior. TRUST God and He will ease your pain and lighten your burden one day at a time.

Evan was a joy to behold. His impact was great, although short lived here on earth. He is best remembered by the love that was displayed and continues to live on in his parents, Rose and Mike, and by all those family, friends, and caregivers.

Evan had such an impact on many lives. For me he made me realize that I should never give up. He will always be in my heart as a Beautiful baby boy and a warrior.
As I went to visit him I saw how he continued to take in "the Breath Of Life" regardless to his situation. So now when ever I think about quiting I will remember Evan and think of how he continued to take in "The Breath Of Life".

Dear Rose, Mike, Andre and Miss Amber,
I am so thankful that I was one of the lucky ones to take care of Evan during his stay at Scottish Rite. I truly thought of him as "my baby" and would look forward to coming to work just to see how he was doing and spend my night with him. I had the songs from his nursery cd memorized and would sing to him in the wee hours of the night. I also held his little hand and hoped he would open his eyes to say hi to me. I will always cherish the time we spent together. The love that your family showed him was incredible. I know that is the reason why he was such a strong baby. Evan and your family will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for sharing with me, your precious gift, Evan.

I know that we don't know each other personally. Dee Taggart is my son. He shared with me about your loss because his hurt ran so deep for your family. Because I have experienced this same type of sorrow, I felt compelled to encourage you. Even though the pain seem unbeareable now, just know that its only for a season. With God's help you will be strengthened and comforted. His word says, "Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted." I know from experience that God will be faithful to His word. He also tells us that He is concerned about everything that concerns us. So allow yourself to grieve, its part of the process. Just remember God will be there to take you through it.

Since you came into this world I grow another heart. You and Amber mean the world to me. When Amber was born I grow a heart for her too. I had two heart pumping in my system after her.
