Family-Placed Death Notice
MURRAY, Frances Francis (Frank) Joseph Murray, 80 of Marietta, Georgia passed away Friday, November 21, 2008. Services will be held Monday, November 24, 2008 at 11:00am at St. Catherine Of Sienna Catholic Church, 1618 Ben King Road, Kennesaw, GA with Father Doyle officiating. Interment following at Greers Chapel Cemetery, Kennesaw, GA. Frank was born March 27, 1928 in Plainfield, New Jersey, son of the late Hugh Murray and Gertrude Sommers. He moved to Cobb County in 1970 and retired from the Atlanta Constitution as a journeyman pressman. He served as a military policeman in the US Army during WWII. After his retirement, Frank played Santa Claus for special needs children and was a volunteer fireman in Jasper, GA. He was life-long Catholic and a member of Saint Catherine's of Sienna Catholic Church. He also a member of Knights of Columbus. He is predeceased by his sons Frank Murray Jr., husband of Patricia McGinnis; Kevin Murray and Raymond Murray. He is also predeceased by two brothers Hugh Murray husband of Mary Kaiser and Bob Murray husband of Mary Renia, and two sisters Eleanor Hughenbrook, wife of Bill Hughenbrook and Terese King, wife of the late Warren King. He is survived by his Wife, Lucy Mines Murray and Sons: Dennis Herring, Kennesaw, GA; Tim Murray, Marietta, GA; Daryl Wilson, Kennesaw, GA; Richard Murray, Rydal, GA and daughters Cathy Charlianzio, of St. Lucie, FL, Nancy Morelo, Atlanta, GA, Marcia Crocker, Kennesaw, GA & Terry Dishmon, Marietta, GA. He is also survived by four brothers Jim Murray, Centervalley, PA, Donald Murray, Greenbrook, NJ, Gene Murray, Highland NJ & Joe Murray, of Jasper, GA. 17 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grand Children & Numerous Nieces & Nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday 2:00pm until 9:00pm with a rosary service being held 7:00pm. at Medford-Peden Funeral Home, 1408 Canton Highway, N.E. Marietta, GA 30066. (770) 427-8447
