Family-Placed Death Notice

VAN HALTERN, Col. Frank, Jr. Col. Frank Van Haltern, Jr., U.S. Army Retired, 82, of Norcross, GA, died February 20, 2012. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 24th, at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel Funeral Home in Norcross. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home. Col. Van Haltern earned his Bacherlor's degree in Engineering from the University of Georgia and a Business degree from Georgia State University. Col. Van Haltern retired from the U.S. Army with 33 years of service. He was previously employed with Scripto for 15 years and had started his own company, Product and Package Design. He is survived by his wife, Doris Cooper Van Haltern of Norcross, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Frank & Leslie Van Haltern, III of Decatur, GA; daughter, Valerie Van Haltern of Melbourne Beach, FL; and two granddaughters, Jamie Van Haltern and Shae Van Haltern. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy on the passing of your Father. I had the pleasure of meeting your father when I bought the "Family" home in Griffin, Ga. in 2004. He was always a very kind man to me, and helpful in anyway possible. Just keep the happy thoughts of him in your heart.
