Gail Marian Knight Brands passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, at the age of 87.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Jeffrey (JoAnne) of St. Louis, Scot (Connie) of Marietta, Alan (Mary Katherine), and Susan of Roswell; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and eleven nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, James, their infant daughter Jennifer, her parents Clement and Gladys, and two brothers.

Gail and Jim were high school sweethearts, sharing a lifetime of love and devotion. Gail earned a degree in food administration from the Rochester Institute of Technology and dedicated many years as a stay-at-home mother before applying her expertise to the school lunch system. To say that Gail was a great cook and baker is an understatement. Cooking gave her joy, and she loved creating unique dishes to serve to family and friends.

Gail was a woman of faith — she didn't wear it on her sleeve but was a quiet force for goodness. She donated time and baked goods to the church and worked on many events and charitable efforts over the years. She helped friends in need and often invited people to her holiday dinners so they wouldn't be alone. Gail loved to read, play bridge and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed but forever remembered for her kindness, generosity and love for her family.

A memorial service will be held on March 29, 11:00 AM at Cross of Life Lutheran Church, 1000 Hembree Rd., Roswell.
