LEVERETTE, Dr. Gary Bernard

Dr. Gary Bernard Leverette, loving son, brother, uncle and friend was born February 6, 1956 in Atlanta Fulton County, Georgia. He was the youngest of eight children born of the late Mrs. Ida M. Leverette and the late Mr. Thomas C. Leverette. He departed this life on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at his residence in Fayetteville, Georgia 30214. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Mrs. Dora L. Daniel (David), Mrs. Hilda L. Andrews (William), Ms. Rosa L. Leverette, and Mrs. Ruth M. Martin. Two Brothers, Mr. Ora Lee Leverette (Evelyn) and Mr. Joenathan Leverette.

Gary completed his early education in the Atlanta Public School System, graduated from D.M. Terrell High School. Gary held advanced degrees from Georgia State University, BA and MBA and he received his PH.D from Columbia Pacific University. He holds an HR certification from e-Cornell University, SHRM certification and was a certified DDI facilitator.

Gary held senior level HR roles at Grady Healthcare System, Delta Airlines, Suntrust Bank, Marta, Amoco Corporation and the IBM Corporation, where he successfully led global and national recruitment campaigns. He also ran a successful recruiting and executive search practice.

Left to treasure his memory is his sister, Ms. Marilyn Ware-Hixon, one brother -in- law, Mr. James Martin. Six nieces, Rhonda Andrews-Cobb, Kim M. Andrews, Dr. Robin Andrews-Tobo, Janet Martin Joyner, Sandy Ware Farmer(Randy) and Amber Ware. Eight nephews, Ronald Martin, Steve Martin(Latanya), Rev. Kenneth Martin(First Lady Bryanna), Reginald Leverette(Marsha), Drennon Leverette(Kristina), David Daniel ( Lashawn), Malick Amin and Kenyatta Hixon(Coretta);aunts, uncles, great nieces, great nephews, great great -nieces and great great nephews, cousins, and numerous other relatives and friends. Two very Special Families that helped with Gary's care Mr. and Mrs. Corey and Antrise Hill and family and Mr. and Mrs. Anthony and Robertine Jenkins and family. In lieu of flowers the family ask that you donate to the Multiple Myeloma Society or the Alzheimer's Association (Georgia Chapter) -The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration/Dementia (AFTD) in honor of Gary.

His Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the chapel at Murray Brothers Funeral Home. Entombment Lincoln Cemetery.
