George Crumbley was a brilliant man and a wonderful boss! I learned a lot from George. He hired me to do his radio/television writing and production. It was an honor to work/learn from this great man. To this day I miss him so much.

Dear Carolyn and Family,
I was so sorry to hear of the death of Pierce. He was my Sunday School teacher at Kirkwood Methodist Church in the l950s. I remember him as a great teacher who was very intelligent, kind and caring.
I lived on Norwood and you and Mrs. Hardy lived at the corner of Emory Place and Norwood. I was Louise Blalock, Dora and Charlie Blalock's daughter. My brother, James, said that he used to deliver papers on your street.
My thoughts and prayers are with you,
Louise Blalock Edwards, Knoxville, Tn.

Mrs. Crumbley and Family,
I was truly saddened when I received the news of Mr. Crumbley's passing. He was a very special and wonderful man and his loving spirit will be missed. Mr. Crumbley gave me my first job out of college and I will never forget the genuine love and caring that he had for all of his employees. We were more like family. He leaves us all with fond memories and an undying love and respect for a great man. I only rejoice in the day when we can join him in that place where God has called him to rest. I love you all and pray God will grant you special peace during this sad time in your life.

Cheryl & Dan,
As a college football fan, I knew the name of George Crumbley and his role in creating the Peach Bowl which I attended several times.
But even knowing Dan for over 30 years and knowing who Cheryl was for her work through her ad agency with Georgia Federal & the AVAIL Network in the mid-1980s, I never put the family connection together until this week.
Cheryl, your father was a most remarkable man and wonderful role model of service to others.
You have my deepest sympathy in your loss.
May God continue to bless the Crumbley family.
Your friend,

I worked for George on that first Peach Bowl. He deserves credit for the current success of the game for in a simpler time his humble spirit kicked off an event that has become important to the city and to college football.

Georgia lost one of its great leaders in George Crumbley. The Peach Bowl is only part of the story. Literally thousands of Georgians receive access to vision and hearing services each year because of the leadership displayed by George. While doing so much good, George was also a dear friend to many of us. What an example he has been. What a legacy we have to follow.
