Stanley Nazarchuk Obituary

I n less than two years, Stanley J. Nazarchuk, 81, found his way back into the loving arms of his wife, the former Helen Echan who passed away in July 2004. He passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2006.
He was previously of Duryea and was residing in Old Forge. He was a son of the Andrew and Valeria (Roslewicz) Nazarchuk. He was a graduate of Duryea High School, Class of 1943. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, with the rank of Sergeant. He received an Associate’s Degree in electronics from Penn State, retiring from Pope and Tallot Paper Co. after over 40 years of service. He was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Duryea, and a life member of the VFW Post 1227, Duryea.
In addition to his wife Helen, he was preceded in death by a brother Dr. Paul Nazarek in 1985.
Surviving are one son Stanley S., Duryea; grandson Eric and granddaughter Rebekah M.S., of Duryea; grandson Stanley C.; and two great-grandsons Kyle and Alex, Pittston; four sisters Jenny Nazarek, Joan Yesnowski, Connie Thompson, all of Duryea, and Olga Kuzniar, Pittsburgh; one brother Danny Nazarchuk, Orlando, Fla.; nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Bernard J. Pointek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main St., Duryea, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, Duryea. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. Military services will be held Saturday morning by the VFW Post 1227, Duryea.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson St., Duryea, PA 18642.
